You can use additional screen names for many purposes. For instance, you may want to use one screen name for personal correspondance, and another for business correspondance, and a third for mailing lists that you subscribe to. You can create new screen names for family members, too. If you have a small business, you can divide the screen names up by different tasks, using one for handling press releases, another for financial correspondance, another for scheduling appointments and events, etc.

How do you add a second (or third, or fourth or fifth) screen name? From the toolbar at the top of the screen, select Members > Personal Choices > Edit screen names > Create screen name. The screen name you select must have between three and ten characters.

What if the perfect screen name you had your heart set on is already taken? Try checking back in a month or so. AOL screen names do become available again after a period of time if an account has been terminated. So keep trying!
